The Junior League of Nashville was thrilled to partner with the Nashville Public Library to present All Booked Up 2017. This FREE event was held on May 20, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Nashville Fairgrounds.
Saturday, May 20th
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
The JLN hoped to reach 250+ young minds ranging from Kindergarten to 4th grade. All Booked Up was not only be a fun event to inspire young readers, but it also served as a registration drive for the Nashville Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge.
All Booked Up engaged young readers through literacy workshops, imagination stations, character meet-and-greets, and Feature Readers. Attendees also had access to literacy support program information, literacy program registrations and more. The best part of the event – kids left with a bag full of books to start their very own home library. Children gained a new enthusiasm for reading after attending All Booked Up!
All Booked Up is an event to support the JLN issue-based community focus on literacy. Through the establishment of strategic partnerships, JLN works to achieve literacy competency across the cradle-to-career continuum by raising public awareness of existing achievement gaps and by ensuring that at-risk, low-income, and new American children and families have appropriate access to education support programs and materials.
