Past Presidents Reception 2009-2010

Our 2009-2010 Past Presidents Reception took place on January 21st from 6-8 pm. The reception included hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Carrabba’s Italian Grill at Green Hills Village. We had a great turn out with 16 Past Presidents attending. The 16 who attended were: Shana Alford, Ann Bumstead, Nancy Diffenbaugh, Missy Eason, Fran Hardcastle, Phyllis Heard, Caryl Hippler, Marie Maxwell, Sallie Norton, Linde Pflaum, Bertie Shriver, Sue Spickard, Ann Tidwell, Julie Walker, Patricia Wallace, and Jerry Williams. The current Vice Presidents, President Elect Elect, President Elect, and President were also in attendance.

The VPs discussed what has been occurring in their area, and Stacy Sullivan-Karrels, President, shared new developments within the League. Amy Smotherman, Managing Director, explained the different projects that the staff was working on and other League updates.

A new tradition of passing down an engraved Junior League of Nashville medallion to the current President was started. The medallion design is specific to the JLN, and Mary Rigby, President 07-08, helped design the logo. Her daughter, Maria, will be given the medallion that was intended for Mary. All Past Presidents in attendance were given a charm to reflect this new tradition.

Overall, the event was a great success with such a feel-good impact that we received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback. Please click here to see photos from the reception.

Thank you to this year's sponsors!

On behalf of the 2009 ‘Tis the Season Holiday Marketplace Committee, thank you so much for your support of our banner fundraiser.  Junior League members participated in ‘Tis the Season by becoming patrons, working League Power shifts, attending special events, coming to shop, and spreading the word!

‘Tis the Season surpassed its fundraising and attendance goals thanks to you and we can’t wait to release final numbers as soon as they are in.

Save the Date: ‘Tis the Season Holiday Marketplace 2010 will take place November 18-20, 2010.  We can’t wait to see how Genevieve McKinney and Jen Watson build on the success of the past three years for next year.  Good luck, girls!
