POLL Senior Staff Conference

Wednesday, July 26, 2017 - Friday, July 28, 2017

The Junior League of Nashville (JLN) is located at 2202 Crestmoor Road, in the Green Hills area of Nashville. We hope you will join us in Nashville from July 26-28.

We are excited about our opportunity to come together to network, discuss best practices, and learn new leadership tools.  The POLL Steering Committee has produced a solid list of agenda topics for discussion:

  • Managing a small staff
  • Moving from diversity to inclusion
  • Creating and growing an endowment
  • Successful Sustainer engagement
  • Staff Recognition
  • Transitions
  • Digital Cheetah

Our Keynote Speaker, Laura Creekmore,  owns Creek Content, a content strategy and communications consulting firm in Nashville, TN. She has managed teams of employees and volunteers ranging from 2-100 members, and she learns more about managing teams every day. Laura is a member of the AJLI Board of Directors and a past president of the Junior League of Nashville.

Throughout the entire conference, you will also have access to informal networking opportunities, additional breakout sessions, and invaluable resource tables, along with instructions on using our Group Share. Click here for the full agenda.

The conference registration cost is $95 per person, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday, morning and afternoon snacks, and a complimentary hospitality hour on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Wednesday night we will all go out together – Dutch Treat.  The rest of the time will be on your own for dinner each night, but each day we will discuss dining options and who would like to go where, as a large group or as several smaller ones.

The Planning Committee will arrive by Tuesday afternoon for final preparations.  Please make your flight arrangements soon and keep in mind that if you are going to join us for the Wednesday afternoon session with Digital Cheetah, please plan to be at JLN Headquarters by 12:45PM.  Please plan to arrange your own transportation from the airport to the hotel.  Shuttles and taxis are available.

We have secured a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn AND the Marriott which are both within walking distance of the League Headquarters.  We have a special rate at each which is detailed in the flyer below.  Some of you have asked why we have two different hotels booked.  When we changed the location from San Francisco to Nashville,  by the time the two hotels were contacted neither had enough rooms.  The wonderful side is that they are virtually in sight of each other.  The Hampton Inn is slightly less expensive as it is an older facility.  Both places are great!  We are sorry this happened but confident it will all work out perfectly.   NOTE:  The hospitality hours will be at the Hampton Inn.

Please view the POLL Hotel Flier  for hotel information.  Please make your hotel reservations by June 30th.   If you have any issues, contact Amy Smotherman at JL Nashville  at 615-269-9393.

We hope that you will make EVERY EFFORT to join us!  If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact any of the Steering Committee members.

(Even if you can’t join us!)  Additionally, we definitely want any “hard” copies of PR materials, manuals, invitations, magazines, annual reports, membership recruitment materials, etc. that we can use for our WONDERFUL Resource Table.  Please send them to the JLN (2202 Crestmoor Road, Nashville, TN  37215) NO LATER than July 14th.  Anyone that has attended in the past can attest to the importance of these materials!

And finally, THANK YOU to our sponsors, Digital Cheetah and Pride Processing for helping keep our conference affordable every year!
